Tartu, the second-largest city in Estonia and its intellectual capital is known for its rich academic traditions and youthful energy. Located in southern Estonia, Tartu is home to the University of Tartu, one of the oldest universities in Northern Europe. The city combines history and modernity, with its charming medieval old town, lively cafés, museums, and cultural institutions.
Known as the “City of Good Thoughts,” Tartu offers a welcoming atmosphere, a strong focus on science and education, and an inspiring setting along the Emajõgi River, making it an ideal venue for international conferences.
The conference takes place in University of Tartu main building, which is considered as a gem of classical architecture in Estonia. The building was constructed in 1804–1809 according to the designs of the University architect Professor Johann Wilhelm Krause. The building has been restored many times, including after a fire in 1965, and most recently in 2007.
